Steering Telescope partial failure

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction - MY12 4.4V8TD and the steering column telescope will not extend the steering wheel (away from the dash). It goes up and down and will pull back in towards the dash.

The IID shows B12AA-62 (2F) Steering column telescope sensor B - Algorithm based failure - signal compare failure and also B12A9-62 (2F) Steering column tilt sensor B - Algorithm based failure - signal compare failure.

I've done quite a bit of searching and can see there were many issues with the motors on the early models but can't find any reference to this kind of problem. I'm pretty sure the motor is not operating so don't think it is that!

I've had the same issue since I got my car. Doesn't cause me a problem, but interested to see if there's a relatively easy fix. Thumbs Up The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile
