Service intervals / dash display

Hi Everyone

My 06MY RR has the newer style of information centre on the dash (not the older BMW style one) and it doesn't seem to tell me when my next service is due.

Is there something I can do to get it to tell me when it will be? Miles or time?

The manual says it displays it before you start it - but it doesnt! FFRR TD6 06MY. Cairns Blue, Blue Hide. LR 7 Spoke 20" Wheels, S/C Grill and Vents. Privacy Glass and Side Steps

The updated display in your car will only say when the next service is when it has worked out that you are 1000 miles to your next service. Thumbs Up 2008 MY Supercharged

Yes, it only displays it when its counting down from 1000 miles to the next service.

Like the BMW system it dynamically alters the service interval depending on how you drive it.

Look at the previous service intervals in the book and you'll soon see how often it has needed doing. I'd say anything from 12k-15K. Discovery 4 HSE

On the new cars, the service intervals are dictated by the car.
Meaning if you drive hard, you can have service intervals at around 5000 km's, or 30000 if you go slow.
My dealer told me of a guy, who had its first at 40000kms!!!!

The main parameter in those calculations is fuel consumption.

On a regular drive, around 12 lts/100 km, the services are at around 16-200000kms.

The only one that its different, is the armored vehicle which has a fixed interval. And also Sports, d3's, freewilly's Defenders.

My 56 plater is same, only tells me when I need a service a 1000 miles before. I currently get around 22.6 mpg from my 3L diesel but don't drive the car overly hard, but I don't hang around either! My service intervals seem to occur between 12-13k miles i.e. once a year for me. Steve

Its the 16-20000 kms... Its the average service interval in these cars.

I'm going to resurrect this thread, as i too was wondering when it thinks it;s next service is due.

When i originally looked at the car, i'm sure i remember seeing on the display that it was due a service on a date in november 2011. I can;t find anything about how i managed to see this, but i'm sure i'm not going mad Very Happy ? I've never seen anything since though.

It doesn't appear on mine either. I prefer the way BMWs count right down from each service rather than just the last 1000 miles.

I was going to ring LR about mine unitl I saw this thread. I'll have to pull out the service history now to give me some sort of clue.

Mine have never shown the need for a service. I always bottle and send it in annually.
