Dubai must see's?

Hi guys
Have always got better advice off here than trip adviser etc. Have just booked 5 nights in Dubai near the Marina last week in March. Going with best mate 34 and 40.
Kinda wanna do 1 day on beach and then 4 days see the sights. Aquarium, maybe Ferrari world. Shopping Malls.

Anyone been who can give me any advise and what not to miss?

Thanks so much

Emirates Motor Museum if you can. It'll be about a 90 minute drive from Dubai but I think it's worth it.

Malls are OK, spectacular and they are all different, but I'd go to one for the experience and leave it at that.

I've not been to Ferrari World. We opted instead to do Go-Karting on a small little coned track inside Yas Circuit. Right next to that are a number of Yas track experiences you can also do. Si. <This is my name.

From the Marina you can take the Metro to Dubai Mall and go up the Burj Khalifa. There's also an aquarium in Dubai Mall but from the outside you get to see a decent selection of sea life at the huge display window.

It's pleasant of an evening to stroll round the marina and frequent the many restaurants and the famous JBR walk is always interesting. Our favourites there are the Butchers Shop for steaks and an Italian called something like Neopolitana that does a decent pizza. 5 Guys is ridiculously expensive and look out for the police I8's, I saw three cruising in convoy the last time I was there.

I also recommend a boat trip either to Burj Al Arab and back, or round the Palm islands. It can be a bit confusing with the water taxi's and ferries but look for the kiosk outside the Carrefour supermarket by the marina mall.

if you fancy it and haven’t been on one before- Desert Safari, the hotel can arrange it for you.

Should you feel the need to take a day trip to Abu Dhabi, ( 40 mins away) go to the Emirates Palace Hotel and have a Cappuccino with 24ct Cold Flakes sprinkled on top. 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black

Sky Dive Dubai if you want the thrill, the old town spice markets and gold with good traditional restaurants. JBR for general sight seeing. Ferrari world and Yas marina are an hour away and depending on day of the week can be horrendous in traffic. The Burj as mentioned has a bar at about the 120th floor but you need to book. Snow dome in the Dubai mall where you can ski when it's 40 degrees outside. Atlantis for water slides and more. Water show at night by the Burj same but bigger than Vegas - good restaurants to sit outside and watch from.

There is a lot there - I go there occasionally for work and have only scratched the surface.

Enjoy 👍 "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

We go twice a year. We visit the sea and the beach, in that order Thumbs Up
It has changed vastly since we started going about 15 years ago. Did all the touristy stuff the first few times but now we just go to soak up the sun and the great service. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Guys you are absolute stars.
Staying at the Sofitel Jumeirah Beach. Thanks so much for all the ideas. will have a look on Groupon. May book some bits over here before we go.
Strange question, but what's the airport like coming back? Because I get bored sitting at Gatwick or Heathrow as not much there, I normally book a lounge before flying. I guess we need to be at their airport the same 3hrs so thinking about booking a lounge over there when coming back. It's £40 a person but if there's nothing to do/look at in the airport I'll go for it.

Fabulous location and just across the road from the butchers shop on The Walk.

Dubai airport is very modern, huge and has lots to do with or without a lounge. It can be a bit busy outside the lounges but it has lots of restaurants and cafes and even an Irish bar for those that wish.

The airport is huge and is geared to you spending money, so they make sure there's nowhere to sit that you won't spend money!

Personally we always go into the either the Emirates business lounge, or if we're travelling economy, the Marhaba lounge. £40 seems a bit steep, but then again, I use my Priority Pass and I'm sure it only costs about £20 each. Both are upstairs from the hustle and bustle of the shopping areas but close enough to allow for you to take a trip down to melt your credit card. Shocked

If you've never flown into DXB before, I would suggest you look at the Marhaba service that they offer. There are a few different levels but they will meet you off the plane (in the terminal), take you (and can use the fast lanes) through immigration. They will wait for you to get your luggage and escort you to your chosen mode of transport to the hotel.

One really important tip, is remember to buy your duty free on the way in. This is between baggage reclaim and customs. That way, you can avoid the astronomical alcohol prices while you're there! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Airport depends on the airline. Emirates terminal is great, BA etc still at the old terminal which is not as great but still ok. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Absolute stars as always. Thanks!
To be honest I flew Virgin to Vegas and loved it. Flew twice more with BA (paying stupid amounts for legroom upgrades) and weren't overly impressed. (I can only afford economy tickets). Have a mate who is a senior flight attendant for BA for 20+ years and when the possibility of flying Emirates came up he insisted I flew with them over BA and Virgin.
So we will see!
The lounge I was looking at was the Marhaba! If you reckon it's a better call I will book that! Thanks

Cheers Jumpin. Think I will book the lounge but have a good walk around first.

Will deffo pick up some drink on route. Is it ridiculous to drink whilst out there? Looking at taking £1000 each for the 5 days. That's for all spending money. Not really looking for clubs etc. Just a beer, beach, walk around the shops, food etc. Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

Just come back from living there for 2 years...

Certainly try and fly Emirates if you can, 2nd choice would be virgin.

Plenty of bars, beach clubs etc. All very similar just depends on your budget vs how looked after you wish to be. The malls, are good for a wander but once you've done one or two they're all quite similar.

If you want to know any specific recommendations - just shout.
