Thanks - just co-incidental with the other problem.

Faith restored

I had better luck with this thread. (The oil feed pipe O rings thread is great, but wasn't the problem I had. I have 10 Viton O rings if anyone looking for replacements...)

Anyway, I found the broken wire, which was beside the previously repaired broken wire! Will get the proper kit now.
Can sit in the sun now Cool

I love google and I love you guys. You've just saved me from a large bill no doubt..
15 mins and repaired! Straight to it , off side mine was. I could see both wires were dodgy and a little tug and both broke.
It's just a strip back and wind together for the moment but I expect I'll have to do it properly soon !
Thanks Gents. Need to think of something !

I posted a few years ago about the fault and repaired the broken wire but it happened again a few days ago. My dealer
had the new warranty kits and sent me 2 and I installed myself fairly quickly. Looks much cleaner and secure.

Had the very issue today - coincidentally after doing an emergency stop to avoid running over a dog. Nearside one wire of the pair nicked and broke. This info has saved me a trip to the local Stealer. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up FF MY2010 3.6 tdV8 VogueSE

Just got the adaptive dynamics fault light for the 3rd time in as many months. Soldered the broken wire together and electrical taped it the first time; soldered the same broken wire with a bit of an extension wire, heatsinked and electrical taped it the second time... is a crimp connector a good idea to try next or would the plastic melt from the heat? If not, what's recommended I do next to have a more permanent fix?

What's exactly involved in putting in that part yourself? Do I have to un-bound that whole 6 to 10 feet of the bonded cablings that the shock tower wiring is bonded to (which all leads to the connector/harness)?

Thank you so much for the hint, same problem and the wire was cut, not even under the screws. Even before. Just put the wire and some tape. Will order the new kit to fix the problem once and for all.

Thanks for this fix guys - I had this problem a couple of weeks ago - all fixed with 5 mins of soldering and heat shrink and avoided a trip to the dealers Smile

Just did mine and all I needed to do was push the grommet back in.

Interestingly, the fault stops any off-road special programs from working.
A relief it's all back to normal.

Like an earlier poster, I'm convinced I've had a choppy ride for the last week. Keen to try it out soon and see if I can notice an improvement.

Greg Cheers, Greg

Thank you gentlemen - and any ladies who have contributed! Thumbs Up

Had the 'Adaptive Dynamics' fault flag whilst on a trip in my 2010 TDV8 Vogue. Initial panic because I didn't know what it was and couldn't find that exact term in the owners manual. Drove home with no perceptible difference in handling or comfort and did a search on this forum with immediate results. Fault was a broken wire from right front strut precisely as shown in the pictures herein.

Fixed in 10 minutes by soldering in a link wire - warning no longer flags and everything presumably now back to normal.

Wonder why those wires break? Mine didn't appear to be under any strain - they don't move with the suspension do they?
