Would be keen to see how much faster the map is. I live 10 minutes away from Mikey so if you fancy a wee drag race post fix, give me a shout! Mr. Green Rolling with laughter

This saga continues! Olympic Warranties pitched up at Mikeys yesterday, a quick inspection and the decision is that my turbos have failed due to ware and tear!!! I need them to quantify that If I take out an extended warranty that specifically covers the turbos, what is ware and tear?
I would like to meet the assessor and let him make me understand why they are not paying out!!
Not finished with them by a long shot!

Mikey has said that my car will be mobile by the beginning of next week! Thank goodness I can afford to pay the bill, otherwise my car would have to be scrapped!!!!

The assessor is independent from the warranty company, but his diagnosis of wear and tear, IMHO, is wrong

LH turbo bearings have collapsed, and pumped oil into the inlet/Boost hoses
RH turbo bearings are OK, but seals have failed, also filling the hoses full of oil

He also cited suspect low oil pressure, and advised removal of the sump to inspect Shocked
Quite how he can advise that with a quick look at a turbo is beyond me...

I wonder how the assessor gets paid, either case by case, or whether their is any incentive to quantify "wear and tear" Confused

don't know about the failures but, I've had the car for exactly two years and it hasn't missed a beat! I've done 20K miles and the car has been serviced 3 times!! 3 oil changes with the correct oil etc! where did I go wrong? I've done lots of other stuff as well!
Think I've just been unlucky, car is now running better than ever, and with some of Gary Woods magic from Alive, it's a dream to drive!!
Can't praise Mike Park from MMP enough, he so knows his cars! Bow down Bow down Bow down 2007 VOGUE SE 3.6 TDV8

G'day Chef, pls don't think I was having a go at the way you have maintained it, just trying to understand why and when these turbos fail. I'm glad it's running so well. The L322 tdv8 3.6 is the best car I've owned. Mine's been quite trouble free other than a trans and transfer, and alternator at 230,000km.

However, I could be tempted by a 4.2 SC, because they are more trouble free, are amazing to drive, and have a rear ediff for off-road work. But the change over cost is probably the same as a new set of turbos. ______________________________
