Tyre size

Hi all,
just a general enquiry .I have an 07 sc with 275/45/20 size tyres.Their seems to be a variety of people driving on different tyre sizes.
Can any one tell me the pros and cons of useing a different tyre size. What would my car originally have had fitted ?
Cheers. Full fat 4.2 Sc
Full fat vogue 4.4 petrol
Jaguar XJR super charged
Porsche cayenne
Tvr tuscan mk1
Bmw mini cooper

255 50 20 would be standard.

Some people are using the 255 55 20 now as they are standard on the L405 and the slightly taller sidewall gives a slightly better ride apparently.

Some people like the look of a wider tyre - hence the 275, but then need to compensate and have a 45 ratio to keep the outer diameter closer - or maybe there isn't a 275 50 available - or maybe the 45's were cheaper.....

275 is the width in mm
45 is the % of the width that is sidewall height

Go too tall or too wide and they will rub & you can't go too wide on the same rims....

So lots of reasons really Very Happy

Does your car have the standard wheels ?
