I can see it growing.. it's got springs, so it's easy to lift.. and being from the USA you can get all the goodies in bolt on form, including higher ratio diffs to compensate for the extra rubber... http://www.llama4x4.com/ is a very helpful UK based importer who doesn't get carried away with the markup, I used them for the 4" lift kit on my Wrangler Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

This is a picture from a friend's blog who is currently in Panama, they are about 2 years ahead of our plans to do the same for 6 months of the year...

This is mostly what I dream of...

If not I'm dreaming about boat fixtures and fittings as I'm trying to turn myself into a marine engineer... a lot of things are similar luckily...

Apparently boats are slightly less reliable than a Friday Land Rover so I'll be kept busy....

I think you have the original QD and QD2 mixed up.

The nv245 like my 247 does lock solid in 4 low but the diffs are electronic lockers.
The original QD 1 which I have had fully locking diffs which use gerotors and lock up as above within a rotation but are weak when pushed hard and one of the reasons QD2 came in so the electronics could take over and have stronger mechanicals as the view was the gerotor stuff wasn't up to the job long term, and to be fair my rear diff shows that Very Happy Wink

Eh spec vehicles got a slightly different spec to US ones as well somalways worth noting when looking around for bits Smile

This should help,

Even turning the traction control off on one won't fully disengage the electronics locking the diffs in most cases..

I didn't have anything mixed up, the question was about the Quadra Trac so I gave the differences between the Quadra Trac 2 and the Quadra Drive 2...!!!

It's irrelevant anyway as it's a road car.... Pete

Now I can see the full picture I understand. That beach looks stunning. 6 months a year. Fantastic Thumbs Up

No surprise from me why a car is much further down the list of "to do or own" Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Yep... it surpasses even an FF... we don't plan on living anywhere in particular, there are over 700 islands in the Caribbean and we plan to visit as many as we can...

We looked at sailing boats and Cats but I'm not really up to sailing one any distance so we will buy a full displacement seagoing motor boat, a plodder with a little diesel engine... they call them Trawlers but that describes the type of boat rather than what it's used for... Thumbs Up Pete

Pete, I'd be very interested to hear what you're doing if you start a thread on it. Don't mean to pry, just very interested.
