My 2006 has never made a sound, light comes on with the ignition and then goes off after starting as normal, don't see anything unplugged so I just assumed it had been somehow disabled by the previous owner.

Flipping airbag light comes on when someone sits in the passengers seat though, but goes off again after it's been cycled a few times, really should look at it.

Thanks Stan, I'm read that you have had the same problem and replaced one of these before in the past.

I'm thinking of swapping my seat covers over, (wear and damage on the drivers side) so might do the whole lot in one go, cheers.

AFAIK the chimes were on late vehicles - 2007 onwards (open to correction on exact date). To activate/deactivate use the plug/unplug x times method.

Earlier vehicles would only have had them depending on the market the car was originally specified for. John

Hi John,

That's what I thought as I have an electronic version of the US handbook and it mentions the chime for my model year (2004) but I managed to dig out the physical UK handbook and it just says dependent on market.

As far as I'm aware the UK were never meant to have a chime for seatbelt use, just as we don't need to be reminded that objects in your mirror blah blah.. Whistle

Brill thanks. Was nine times in my case. Nice to avoid the wrath of the chimes while on our driveway!

FWIW neither my 02 nor facelift SC (06 but 07MY) made any seatbelt noise...... Mike - MPx
