Have enjoyed the programme for a number of years. Thinks the cracks started to show in series 12, seemed to be a bit of tension building.

Will miss the current set up, has been interesting seeing it develop.

Definitely a shame that Edd's leaving, he was the best part of the show. Sometimes Mike Brewer could be a bit condescending and his 'old aht yer and' mannerisms made for cringeworthy viewing.
Will especially miss Edd's 'top tip' moments, have definitely learned a lot from him. Hope to see him back on a new show soon.

Always been a big fan of the show but never a fan of Mike's, I find him most annoying, one of my pet peeves is when he walks into a parts dept or garage and shouts "shop" before even reaching the counter to see if there's anyone there.

I've let customers have both barrels for this in the past, most rude.

Not sure I'll be tuning in much any more, was loosing interest with the US stuff.

Well Edd certainly gave this reluctant spannerman the confidence to give it a go, whereas my car buying skills were never improved by watching Mike Brewer............... ______________________________

I think the animosity between China and Brewer has gone on for a few good years to be honest. I remember staying in the Holiday Inn near Birmingham Airport and China and Brewer was in the same hotel.

I was going to the top Gear show and the Wheeler Dealers was doing the car show next door and all the time they was in the hotel and in the lobby I did not see them talk to each other once and I think the chat and banter is for the TV screen only, but China is a tall guy that's for sure.

Nice guys but Brewer is a pr*** if you ask me and I wish Edd all the best for his future. Range Rover quotes.....

Was getting sick of the American stuff and the final nail in the coffin was that hideous fiat panda , the test drive at the end is taking up more and more time and getting a bit annoying I'd rather see Ed fixing stuff than them driving around , as for wheeler dealers trading up don't even start that one !

My Clarkson picture wasn't a joke. I think there is a slot for a man like Edd with the Grand Tour boys. Yes it's "those 3" but the essence of "team renegade" really makes me think it'd work...not sure a full on workshop session would work but how about one very special build taking a whole series with a slot each programme..

"this series Edd turns this 1978 Ford Escort into a classic to be proud of"

They then raffle it off.....

I think my work here is done Whistle Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

One reason I won't watch US restoration shows is that they don't show much of the work. There's too much fluff.

As mentioned before, Mark Evan's "A ..... is Born" series were much better.

BTW, is Henry Cole's The Motorbike Show still on? Ron B. VK2OTC

Yep, Henry Cole is still on the air with The Motorbike Show.

I can't watch it though, if SWMBO catches me I get reminded that helmets spoil her hairstyle Big Cry

Simple, don't take her on the bike. I never take my wife. I don't think she's been on the back of one of my bikes since 1970.

Re Henry Cole, his show hasn't been on TV for ages and, even then, there were only a couple of series.

Re Wheeler Dealers, I've only watched a couple of episodes (I couldn't handle Mike), one being the burnt P38A repair - I never did work out why they bothered. Ron B. VK2OTC

I used to like the 'this is what might be wrong and how to fix it' approach of the early WD programs especially as they tended to concentrate on what many petrol heads would call 'fixer-uppers'. They definitely made the wrong decision when they went over the pond as they now have vehicles on that not many over here can relate to. Didnt Mike and Edd have a pre-WD program where Mike tried to find a second hand car for punters and Edd showed private sellers how to spruce up their cars that they couldn't sell. I remember him showing a bloke that cleaning the mud, dog hairs and rubbish out of his s1 Disco and giving it a wash made it more likely someone would but it.... QUID FACIUM TIBI
