Ipone 30 Pin to Lightning adapter

Hi All,

I am wondering if I buy an Apple 30 Pin to Lightning adapter if i will be able to plug my iPhone 7 into the Media cable in the centre arm box of a 2011 AB...

Ideally i would like to be able to play Spotify in the car...

Has anyone else done this? I am wondering whether the 30Pin to Lightning will actually work?

Thank you in advance...

Comments on this thread from NMJ that a genuine one should as it has the digital to analogue convertor - I've not tried it though......

Yep it works but would recommend a genuine adaptor. Steep at £25 but they are pinned in the correct way. Some adaptors can only do charging etc, so the safest bet is Apple. Jordan

The adapters work ok - I brought an after market 30 pin to lightening adapter and use that with the LR cable. I have routed it into the double cup holder so all out of sight. easy job.

I would say however that the fwd and back controls on the steering wheel or the dash do not work so have to use phone display to change tracks. I dont know if this is due to the fact that I went cheap with the adapter and a genuine apple adapter may allow steering controls to work. Question 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I have it in my 2010MY and works perfect even for controlling my iphone 7

it wont charge the iphone till you get a 5v charging adaptor in it. I tried a few of them and about the best seems to be this one (search for it on ebay) https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16295...sPORT.html , although it makes some capacitor noises through the audio system at higher volumes. If anyone knows of a better one or a newer version cable to avoid this, let me know. Current Vehicles :

I had one. Worked ok with an iPhone 5S but stopped working with my 6S. No idea why.
I have read that the original Apple one works, but other knock odd ones don't.

Personally I'd avoid cables completely & use a Bluetooth adaptor on the end of the iPod cable. I use this one (though there are a few options here).

Second time I've posted that link on here today. They should give me some bloody commission! Wink
