New D4 BT module problem?

Hi, I ordered a new BT module from Wiggs last summer (ref http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic53544.html) - installed it July in our 2007 L322 - and as everyone else I immediate experienced the improved sound with the new D4 type BT module. And the improved display (signal strength & service provider) on the l322 nav unit screen - great!

However, I also experienced that my smartphone at that time; a Samsung Android; did have a problem with the pairing, resulting that I had to manually pair the Samsung phone with the BT module using 2121 40-50% of the time I drove the car.

I had a dialogue with Wiggs about this, but since I was to get a new iPhone 7+ last fall, we concluded that the problems most likely was related to the Samsung android phone.

In December I got my new iPhone 7+, but unfortunately the pairing problems have continued. It works now and then, I'm guessing 50% of the times the phone will automatically pair with the new BT module in the car, and the other times I have to manually pick "Land Rover" in the BT menu on my phone, and then enter 2121 once again.

Both with my Samsung and the iPhone 7+ I of course have tried multiple times to delete "Land Rover" from the BT connections, and then do new reconnections. I have disconnected the car battery, trying to "reset" the BT that way, but still the problem persist. I've also discussed with Wiggs if there are any SW updated on the BT module to fix this, but there aren't any such updates to this module.

I'm using the iPhone 7+ with other BT devices as well (Mini Cooper S Cab, loudspeakers, headphones) - all these works without having to do a reconnect/re-pairing.

Anyone else experiencing this with the new "Wiggs" BT module? Is it "normal" that the BT pairing is lost 50% of the time with the new type BT module?

I have similar with my 2007 RR.
Did the exchange unit with Wiggs, now sometimes it connects others it just says no phone connected.
Added annoyance is when the phone rings when not paired and I am too close to the car it pairs then and you cannot hear a thing.
This is with an iPhone.
Just accepted its a Land Rover thing!

Is the D4 one just plug and play like the L322 one was/is?

L322 ones no longer being made and no longer available according to my local dealer.

I also have a 2006 and it never pairs automatically, have to pair it and enter the code each time, I'm hoping it can be flashed with an IID tool.

If a technophobe like me can do it, I can't see you having any problems. Laughing
be sure battery is charged , or on ctek charger. Takes about an hour.
I don't have to pair my phone at all, it recognises the the phone every time, well worth it. Thumbs Up

This weekend I tried to upgrade the BT ECU according to the description in the IID manual chapter 4.11.4, using my IID BT tool, but I get error messages half way during the upgrade: "Operation Failed E 4". I even tried using a PC connected to the IID tool (as described in the IID manual). And - used a CTEK connected while upgrading, so the voltage should not be a problem. Strange!
