United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Did the upgrade to the pebble style fob,

the eBay ones need a little taking off the angled corner (2 mins with a small file off a pen knife) then they go together ok.

The genuine ones (off of Dan) are slightly more complicated they need a bit off a couple of corners, the locating lugs line up ok but if you put it in the lug side of he case you can see where it needs easing.

Goes together in the end.

The genuine ones are slightly more tactile and well made, but are £33, the copies are pretty good but the back is gloss as opposed to matte but are ok for £12 Thumbs Up

Got the genuine one on the main keys and the £12 one on the spare! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'm just trying to switch my old fob covers with the shiny new ones I bought from Dan. (Cheers Dan!) But I can't work out how to remove the sprung bit on the short end to put inside the new case. Does anyone have any idea? I'm sure it can't be as simple as just forcing it off - can it?

Doesn't look like you get the end cap with it. It was a job I was hoping to do myself rather than send keys off. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Scotland 2010 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Zambezi Silver

It's fairly easy to do it yourself why pay someone a fortune to get it done.. as many of us have replaced it to the newer style one (I prefer the 2010 chunky on btw)

As it's a forum it would be good to share the knowledge rather than charging for it. If anyone is in Glasgow, I'm happy to help FOC.. just bring your replacement cover. Current:
- L560 Velar HSE R-Dynamic D180
- Peugeot 508 2011 - 2.2 HDi GT

Past:
- FFRR V 2010 - 3.6 TDV8
- Citroen C4 1.6i Petrol
- Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DID
- Peugeot 607 2.2 HDi

Ireland 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

I bought a new style one from eBay , it was 35 stg and I paired it using the Iid tool. As others have said , it's a bit smaller compared to my original 2011 keys but i have it as a spare.

EDIT. the key fob was complete with transponder, etc , all it needed was pairing and the blade cut. 2015 4.4 AB

I don't mind paying for services, but I like to have a go myself where possible. When I had my x5 i stripped down an iphone cradle and charging cable so I could dock/charge and control an intravee unit I had installed. That was a pig of a job but worthwhile. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8
