changing parking sensor

My range rover occasionally tells me that parking aid is unavailable so I must go to my dealer (only happens now and again when reversing). I suspect I just have a dodgy parking sensor so thought I'd see if I can track it down and replace it. Does anyone know how to tell which one is faulty and do I need to remove the rear bumper to get to them?
Thanks
Jon

sorry about that- I have filled out the profile but perhaps it isn't showing for some reason- it's a 2013 SDV8 vogue SE.

I don't know about the newer ones but on the older L322's you can hear the sensor clicking when it's working if you put your ear to it outside.

thanks angel - I'll see if my local dealer knows about this (it's out of warranty but they should do this sort of thing as a courtesy surely??)

Hamlet-I think the 405 and 322 have the same sensors so I'll listen for a clicking- just to check they click WHEN they are working rather than when they aren't?

Yes, you should hear a clicking when it's actually working if you put your ear to the sensor in the bumper, make sure it's switched on inside, as in, you should hear the beeping in the cabin when you're outside with your ear to the bumper.

thanks hamlet- that's clear. I've just phoned my local dealer who tells me that there are "no outstanding updates" for my vehicle so they would have to put it on their diagnostic equipment which is a minimum charge of £118+vat (so £140)!! before they've done anything to fix it!!
I'm going to listen for some clicks first (ie run my own diagnostic test)

If it's out of warranty you may find it cheaper to use a LR specialist rather than a dealer. Good luck

Isn't there a website to tell you if there's outstanding recalls / updates for your vin number ? £140 may be a good enough incentive for some dealers to tell porkies.

While looking for solutions,I found this http://www.landroverproblems.com/tsbs/Range_Rover/2014/
Which kind of gives some details into some possible faults but I think it's American (so maybe restricted value in UK) and it doesn't tell me what to do about things. May be of use to some though.
