Maintaining - looking for advice on maintaining L322 plastic

On our L322 Supercharged we have an area of light grey plastic at the bottom of the windscreen. This has dulled with age and I am looking for advice on caring for this. I could use a 'back to black' product but am. It sure that this is the best option.

Regards,

Ed

Anything you use on it will wear off qickly and it will be dull grey again in no time! Gtechniq do a product which is expensive but supposed to be a long term solution to dulled plastics which you may want to look up on google.

Yes, g technic is the product you need, I think it is c4, you only need a tiny bottle....it is like nothing else I have used before, forget plastic polishes, the g tech properly revives it.

The main reason that the plastics go grey is because they continue curing with UV light so the oils come to the surface and get washed off. The g-technic stuff works well and I have found that it is much more permanent if you heat the plastic up before applying it - CAREFULLY !!

A paint stripper gun (not a hairdryer) is the tool but don't get it too hot. As it warms the surface will become tacky. This is the time to apply the g-technic as it then bonds permanently with the surface. Like I said, careful use of the heat. Overdo it and the plastic melts. Best done off the car as well so you avoid collateral damage.

The beauty of g-technic is it won't pass UV light so further curing of the plastic is stopped.

I tried a host of treatments and then saw a chap on another forum using a matt black plastic paint. I have done the same and it looks good. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
