4.2 SC Pads & Discs

Evening gents,

Time to do all 4 corners as far as brakes are concerned.

I understand from doing a few searches, that a lot of you just got for the genuine LR discs+pads and call it a day. Just wanted to know if this was still the done thing? What discs+pads do you have on your SC?

I tried banging my plate into eurocarparts.com to get some prices just as a reference point but there is a few different sizes and not sure what fits the SC. I think its probably 360mm diameter front and 354 rears?

Thumbs Up Jordan

Did my fronts a couple of years ago and my rears last week. Used Advanced factors. (Brembo for fronts with Borg & Beck for rears). Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

I got Brembo discs and pads from EuroCarParts the other weekend when they had upto 55% off. No issues with them. Came in at £170 after the discount

Mandelbug: What size did you go for off ECP? I get the option of 344mm or 360mm fronts and normal or vented rears?
Dont know what fits the MY07 specifically. Jordan

I replaced the whole lot on my SC last year with Brembo pads and discs from Advanced Factors.

There has been talk previously suggesting that Brembo do not make these brake parts, but I have checked very thoroughly and they most definitely do.

So, I'd search for genuine Brembo parts or go straight to Dan at Duckworths for OE.

Importantly, do not forget to get ceramic grease for the pads. I gather it's far better than copper grease for this application. Advanced Factors supply this as I'm sure will Dan. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

360mm fronts. Not done the rears as they were done before I bought the car.
