tdv8 vs older .. common faults etc

I'm sure this has been asked many times before so apologies if it has.

After a few years with a freelander 2 finances have improved substantially and my next car will either be a Disco 4 or 2008 tdv8 Range Rover. I know of some issues with the early models such as inactive suspension and gearbox issues but thought I'd ask if these were still an issue with the 2007/2008 models. Are they any other common faults I should be budgeting for with these?
Thanks in advance
Gary

England 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Hi Gary,

I think the TDV8 3.6 suffers from issues with Turbo hoses that need to be replaced before killing the turbos. Gearbox is better than the TD6 as it is not made of butter.

I am sure some with better knowledge will be along soon, there is a lot on here if you search for difference between the 3.6 and 4.4 TDV8 models. Tom
