Black smoke from L322 TDV8

I have suddenly become aware that my 2007 L322 TDV8 is belching black smoke when accelerating/kick down. The general opinion is over fuelling??? I have no warning lights showing and there is no lack of performance. On plugging in my IID Tool, the only engine fault code I get is "P023D-22 (6C) Manifold absolute pressure-turbocharger/supercharger boost sensor A correlation-General signal failure-signal amplitude>maximum". I cleared the fault, took for a test drive, car still smoked and fault had returned on rechecking.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Mike.

Most likely a split turbo hose

If so, the good news is it's a cheap fix & nothing serious

Do a search - there's loads of threads Thumbs Up

Thank you for your quick reply Alistair. I have already had a quick look at the Turbo hoses, I guess I may have to remove them to check properly. Thanks again for your help.
Regards,
Mike. Thumbs Up

That's a weird split. Was it underneath? ______________________________

Is the split at the intercooler or engine end of the hose? Thanks. ______________________________

It is at the engine end on the top, (a bit obscured by some other hoses.) Will be interesting to see if replacement of the hose sorts the engine fault code. I'm also surprised such a serious split didn't send it in to limp mode!

Yep, that should fix it.

Where it goes every time seems to be the failure point Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Diagram here: https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/intercooler--hoses-1949-c.asp

(That's for a 3.6 which is what the original thread relates to - I presume the 4.4 is very similar)

It's the top hoses that are prone to failure.

Your a star, yes 3.6 and the nearside has a split in it at intercooler end.
