Getting my alloys powder coated.

Hi

I'm not a fan of the chrome finish to the wheels on my new toy, so it's going to have them changed to black. As they are chromed, I'm taking the spare in first to make sure it works ok before committing to the full set of 5.

The place I'm using is a small local place and they can't store my car while it's without wheels. So what do others do when they have to take all four wheels off? Will it be ok on axle stands for a week?

Or does anyone in the North Somerset area have a set they can lend me for a week in exchange for some beer tokens??

Cheers
FD

I used Phoenix wheels near St Brendans Collage. £50 a wheel including fitting tyre and balancing. they can keep yours over night behind locked gates if it helps.
They said they can powder coat anything so I guess you don't need to worry?

Are they "Ball polished" with a laqueur?

I bought a set almost new with some lacquer spiders under the laquer, so I decided to get my wheels refinished with a "Chrome" finish, looks like a dull polished aluminium, description doesn't reflect how good they look Wink

They suit my Buckingham blue colour, Can get some pics if you want to see. Regards

Couple of places I've got quotes from both think mine are chrome which adds to the cost of prep unfortunately.

Update:
I finally found a time when I didn't need the car for a week so off came the wheels and onto supports the car went.
I used a local company (not sure if forum rules allow me to post details and price but pm me if you are looking for an enamalling company in North Somerset) and I have to say I'm impressed with the result.

Not the best photo due to low light tonight so I'll try to get a better photo this weekend

I really like it Thumbs Up
Was never keen on that wheel style, especially with that body colour - but the black and grey goes really well I think.

Cheers.

Difficult to get a good photo as I haven't parked anywhere with the sun behind me, but this one is slightly clearer than the last.

Happy to accept that this combination appeals to some and not others... it's certainly a huge improvement on the pitted and corroded chrome they had before 👍
