TD6 easy transmission filler !!

Changed the transmission fluid today, I'll run it a week then change the filter and oil again. I was lucky, all plugs came out easy.
Filling the box looked like it was going to be time consuming and messy so a brain wave was needed Question We had an Aldi garden sprayer at work with a broken nozzle / tube (been run over) so, first job is clean it out thoroughly then blow it dry. Then I cut off the steel tube with the nozzle on leaving about 2 1/2" of tube sticking out the handle (no nozzle, just steel tube). Filled it with Texaco ATF and pumped it up to pressure. Stuck the tube in the filler hole and locked the trigger to "on". 5 minutes later it's pumped 5 ltrs of fluid into the box with no mess at all, didn't even have to hold the handle in the box, stayed in on it's own Thumbs Up

For about £8 it's worth buying a new one just for this job.

I love it when a plan comes together. Thumbs Up

I used 5 ft of standard hosepipe, topped off with a funnel, fed up from the filler hole into the engine compartment. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I was under the ramp though, so the ex garden sprayer made easy work of it. Just pump it up and open the tap. Stand there twiddling my thumbs for a couple of minutes and job done.
