Insurance - information requests

Hi all

I don't know if procedures have tightened up generally if I have a picky broker? I have just insured my mini convertible that I use for work and I have been asked for:
NCB (that's usual)
DVLA licence checking code
Copy of my driving licence card
Mileage on my car

Also told that as I have specified I park on my drive overnight, if I leave it in the street at home overnight and it is stolen, I'm not covered.

Most companies just take your money. Never been asked for all this stuff before, any views?

quite the norm these days.

My 911 has the same parking restriction, if at home it must be in the garage. Current

Mileage is normal if your policy specifies an annual mileage, maybe some companies don't bother because they can get the info from MOT test details or service records. It seems to be normal that if you say your car is normally garaged you have no theft cover if it is within a set distance from your house and not in the garage overnight, there seems less justification for differentiation between drive and street, but perhaps the risk is different enough to justify that. I've not been asked for the other stuff. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Slightly different but when I had my jet ski an insuranve condition was I had to ensure the seats were not stored with the jet ski and if it was stolen I would have to produce the seats to demonstrate compliance, luckily I never had to test this process out.
