3.9 RR Classic one spark missing why?

Hi all

Still trying to get the 3.9 14CUX hotwire RRC project engine started. Have just noticed that there is no spark on one of the plugs. Tested with a known good lead but no joy tested with a known good plug no joy. Swapped dizzy cap and rotor no joy. All other 7 plugs sparking well against the block.

What part of the distributor could have failed? - I'm no experts on the inner workings of the distributor I'm afraid.

Could it be something else?

Many thanks in advance..... Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Are they the dizzy cap and rotor new genuine items, some of the aftermarket parts are Sh*t

Sparking against an earth isn't the same as being under compression Regards

Cheers Royston.

The Dizzy is genuine but the rotor arm is aftermarket I think.

Would there still be chance of a spark when in the cylinder then despite it not sparking to the block earth? 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Is the roar seating properly ? IE square on and not at a slight angle?

I had a load of hassle with aftermarket rotor arm with my 3.9. Wink

I'd change both for genuine

Seems odd you have 7 out of 8, I' a little confused, as you are Neutral Regards

Thanks Gents

Food for thought but if genuine stuff dont work I've decided to part with cash and give it to a man. Don't want it back till she's purring like a cat. Evil or Very Mad 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus
