New engine !

Gonna bite the bullet and buy a reconditioned engine , Where is the best place and how much ?..

Not good Stu, why do you need one?

eBay have the most around the 4K mark fitted. Or yours can be reconditioned
For about 6 to 7k. It really depends what has happened to yours as the more ancillaries
You can reuse the better. Turbos egrs etc as long as they are checked first.
