Front Suspension Knock - An appeal for help in Bristol/Bath

Hi all

My L322 has developed yet another knock on the front end. It is clearly coming from the front left and is a very loud knock / rattle that is most evident riding over potholed and rough road surfaces.

I have spent more money than I dare add up on trying to fix this and have changed most bushes, ball joints etc.

I'm beginning to wonder if it might be the strut, although the garage say there is no sign of any leaking.

Is there anybody in the Bristol / Bath area that has any experience with this that would lend my their ear to listen to the noise / have a look to see if they can advise where I go from here?

Any assistance would be much appreciated and would of course be rewarded with your favourite tipple!!!

Many thanks,

Tom.

Sorry not in Bristol but had the same problem.
I changed the following:-

Track rod ends (both sides) still clonking.

Front ARB link arms (both sides) "

Lower suspension arms (both sides, straightish ones with integral ball joint ) clonking vanished.

Upon inspecting the old ones I found the N/S one had a tear in the rubber boot and the ball joint was rusty and worn.

start with the front anti roll bar tie rods.

These are fairly cheap and can be changed on the ground. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

did the workshop tighten the bolts and nuts of the suspension parts whilst the cars' wheels were hanging or on the ground.
If they did it with the wheels hanging then that could possibly be the reason for the knocking.

My previous range rover suspension also knocked however, after the mechanic loosen the bolts and nuts and tightened it with all 4 wheels on the ground the knocking was gone. If I were you I would give it a try before spending any more money on it
