AGM battery in an L322?

Been having the flat or very nearly flat battery problem again and it has been suggested to me that I could fit an AGM battery.
Is this feasible on an 03? QUID FACIUM TIBI

What's the advantage? I think I have one in my 2011. Sorry, I know it's not answered your question.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

It was suggested by an AA mech after I called them out for the fifth time to a flat battery. He said that there is something causing a drain while the car is parked over night which doesn't allow the battery to cycle properly and is causing damage to it. Apparently AGM batteries are designed to handle this and are better able to cope with the demands of a td6. Has anybody had similar problems and tried this? QUID FACIUM TIBI

Well, I do like AGM batteries but only for their ability to cycle a lot more than lead-acid. They don't have any more capacity although they will give a high enough output to start from a much deeper level of discharge. But the bottom line is simple, if you have a drain it needs fixing or you will get more flat batteries, it just takes longer with AGM.

I put one in a few years ago as mine has a heater in it although it is petrol more as a safeguard and it has been great but as has been said its not the battery at fault it is the drain you need to sort that first

I remember fitting a AGM battery to my old BMW745 when fitted I had to use BMW DIS to change the car to know it was there

A 2003 ffrr wont provide the correct charging voltage for an AGM battery, so you wont get the best out of it..... If your battery is going down overnight then it's either a dud battery of you have a drain going on, most likely something in the boot is swimming in water... nav, radio , tv etc

A common one is the Nav player not shutting down, if you leave the access panel open and the parcel shelf open, with the car locked you can see if the red light goes out after a time, normally about 10 minutes.

The other thing is to charge the battery and disconnect it, make sure that the door key works first before disconnecting!! Then reconnect it the morning and see if it still struggles to start, if it does then the battery is dud, replace it with an 020, they are bigger capacity and fit the earlier battery boxes..... Plus most like Varta (OEM) come with a 5 year guarantee, the best you'll get on an AGM is 3 years, and they are cheaper, by about 20%!! Why would you want to spend more?? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

There is no water ingress and everything turns off. One thing though, after locking the car I sometimes hear a loud fan come on (sounds like the blower) but it doesnt stay on very long.... QUID FACIUM TIBI

That will be the remote cabin heater... which is under the battery.. they have a mind of their own and just spring into life as they please! If the rest is ok then I'd suspect that your battery is past it's sell by date and it's time for a new one...

This is about the best deal that I could find http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/020-i1-varta-bat...Sw44BYUqmI

If you not fussed about OEM then there are cheaper batteries out there, but not all come with a 5 year warranty !! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I am no expert but I was wondering about my battery going flat
I have read that if there is a small air leak in the suspension, and the car loses its height, the computer will correct the height about every three hours, this I recon would flatten the battery if not run for a while,

The battery (Varta) was new last October. Ive been to a specialist today and their machine says the battery is ok, just needs charging. I wasn't totally confident though as they then tried to sell me a mains converter as a booster..... QUID FACIUM TIBI

The computer will attempt to level the car by lowering it.The compressor will not come on.This can not drain the battery flat! 2012 TDV8 Vogue SE 4.4

Whistle That is a P38 Whistle

They will keep on pumping up the EAS until the battery is flat.... But the L322 doesn't do that the compressor will only run when the engine is on Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
