L322 tdv8 body removal

Afternoon all,

My car has been in the garage for 4 weeks trying to diagnose an oil leak and to have the suspension removed, overhauled and bushes etc replaced. The garage are saying that they will need to remove the body to get to the rear of the engine block- i though this was only possible on the RR sport? It's a 2011 4.4 TDV8...

You could probably sell tickets, ice cream and rent deck chairs for folks to watch !! (Depends whether it is on your money or theirs?)

Definitely cannot remove the body, remove it from what - the engine? - perhaps round the other way .

Your oil leak at the back of the block sounds like the Oring failure detailed in a post by Craig.
Also full suspension refurb on a 2011 ?. seems a bit premature.? G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

It's the Overnfinch spec with 22's, so the suspension gets a rough ride anyway. Also the previous guy who tackled the oil leak cleaned the block down with brake fluid and i'm conscious of the damage this may have caused to the rubber elements under the hood.

Does anyone know anyone local to Surrey who would look at the o-rings?

Agreed, sounds like the small O rings for the turbo feed pipe at the back of the oil cooler which sits at the rear of the engine.

The O rings get brittle and allow oil to blow past under pressure which then runs down the bellhousing.

I had to do mine at 55k.

This body has been removed.

From everything.

Now it's much easier to get to the engine.

Where ever it is.
