Independant Near Yeovil in Somerset?

Hi I have just got a 2003 V8 and i am having Gearbox issues, does anyone know of a good independent near to Crewkerne, or Yeovil in Somerset, dont want to drive too far as coming up with Transmission Overheat and Transmission Failsafe on display.

Many Thanks

I don't know of any to recommend...but FWIW

I've used both Matford Exeter and the Yeovil main stealers. Typical main dealer experience - ie decidedly mixed. If the computer says yes then you may get a fix but if the computer says no then they wont have any idea and all at eye watering prices.

I've used Blackdown 4x4 at Kentisbeare. Again maybe too far for you, but they do seem to know what they're doing and at more reasonable cost than the dealers. http://www.blackdown4x4.co.uk/

Just opened in the last year very near me is Windwhistle 4x4. I suspect that they are more defender based than fatties but I think its a genuine mechanic set up on his own so maybe worth a conversation. On the hill down a mile or two before Chard on the left in some new units not visible from the road. http://windwhistle4x4.co.uk/

Let me know if you find anyone good! Mike - MPx

I once used these guys to put a new engine in a V8 Disco 2 and then put 12,000 miles on it, without issue, till I sold it. Found them good to deal with and certainly knew their stuff.

Thanks for the info guys, I've spoken to a couple of specialists regarding my problem ,they have recommended Dunnings autobox specialists in Weymouth , so booked in there next Monday, spoke to a guy there who sounded like he knew his stuff, so will report back when they have looked at it.
