L405 Corrosion Warranty Confusion

LRCS told me this week that if a main dealer is selling an Approved Used L405, then it is a clean slate process that cancels out any previous corrosion inspections that might have been missed or not recorded on LR systems. Because to sell as an A.U car the main dealer is vouching for the fact the vehicle is sound.

In contrast, a main dealer later informed me that any non franchise servicing or missed services will invalidate the 6 year warranty.

Who is right?

My experience with 3 different LR main dealers over the years has always been the same......
They won't carry out any warranty work until someone, either the warranty company or JLR agrees that they are paying.

This seems wrong to me.
The dealer gets your money so they should carry out any necessary work without waiting for authorisation from whoever.
They should then seek repayment from either JLR or the warranty company when the repair is completed.

Perhaps some clever " Legal Expert" on here can draft a contract of agreement between us " The customer " and them "The selling dealer".
It would cut out weeks of wasted time waiting for authority to carry out necessary repairs.

LR have to honour the warranty as long as the car has been serviced by a VAT registered garage and has used genuine parts. This is part of EU block exemption rules. 2021 L405 Vogue D300

Agreed JamesD... the selling main dealer could also give a written assurance that in the event of LR declining any future corrosion warranty claim (based upon any non franchised history) then the dealer would honour such a claim as per the LR corrosion warranty definition Thumbs Up
