4.4 TDV8 Cracked air intake manifold

Hi,

Apologies my first post is a cry for help. Im posting on behalf of my dad as I'm "quicker' on the computer Laughing

My dads RR 2011 4.4 TDV8 went into 'restricted performance' on the way home today and after investigating under the bonnet and removing the engine cover it was apparent that a manifold had cracked. It had blown out some oil and lifted the engine cover.
Im assuming the 'donut' shaped manifold on top of the engine is the plenum chamber with four hoses coming from it.
The N/S manifold that connects to this part via the front pipe has cracked at the seam. Can anyone helped to identify the exact name of this part please as internet searches are proving fruitless.

Many thanks
Mike

The first picture shows where the crack is. Everything else looks fine.

As Stan says..welcome!!

Can I ask how many miles are on your FF please? Just curious, I've recently had one of the inlet rubbers split giving the same restricted performance message.

If you are going to do the work yourself it's just basic tools apart from the three tiny torx screws at the front. The two engine cover mounts are screwed onto two of them. Screw one of the cover mounts off and make sure you have the right size before you start or like me you'll kick yourself. Sorry can't remember the size, but it's tiny. Hope you get sorted soon. Let us know how it goes.. Thumbs Up Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Nino,

I took a screenshot from the relevant WM section.
I recon that in the last 2 years 90% of all 4.4tdv8 problems reported by members can be seen on that picture.
Either splits in the rubber hoses or in the plastic manifolds, or the air changeover valve stuck.!!!
I have had 2 out of the 3. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999
