It's for the illuminated ones, but the principle should be the same.....

Thanks Alistair and DrF:

Do I just prize the black surround plastic off with my fingers and brute force or do I use a tool (don't want to break the plastic... or rip ma fingers aff)?

Anyone bought any for a non-Autobiog L405? (seems to be an option for those) Quite like the idea of them in a blue to match the ambient blue. Possibly blue puddle lights too. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

On which, does the L405 have under-mirror puddle lights? There's something there, but they're not in the manual at all and don't seem to be working on mine of they are lights. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Ours has those under mirror puddle lights and it's only a Vogue.

Removed the tread plates today.

First pull the door seals away from the vertical pillar between front and back doors because;

The colour coded [leather effect] internal pillar trim that surrounds the seat belt reel needs to come off first;

Followed by pulling away the black plastic trims that surround the aluminium tread plates.

The plastic and the metal clips are all very robust so are unlikely break.

The pretty scratched tread plates will now be sent Badger Anodising to be restored to an as new finish.

OCD?

Thanks for the tips

Second time I've used Badger, Greg (the last time being to refurb our SC tread plates (original thread attached).

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic18086....ght+finish

Badger = skilled and really accommodating.

They do many different types of finish from 'factory look' to customised.

Paid 80 for the former SC plates to be refurb'd to a factory 'bright finish' and again, 80 to have the latest plates refurbished to a matt factory finish.

Arranged own delivery to and collection from their Birmingham premises via Hermes for about 5 each way.

Quick, easy and pleased with the results.

Thumbs Up
