Rust

Just found a rust blister in a new place.

Just next to the rear door, on the outer top of the wheel arch. Not seen one go there before. Just a small blister from what I could tell but I had just parked it in the airport car park before heading off, will have to have a good look when I get back.

I have the same, will be difficult to match up paint when repairing it! Got enemies? Good, you have stood up for something in your life.

Never regret growing old, it is a privilege denied to many.

With the Jeep GC I just got rid of, I just went to the local Halfords where, using what looked like the most utterly primitive methods, they mixed me a small pot of paint.

It was an extremely good match, which amazed me. The only problem I had was that I stored the half empty pot in a small netting container in the boot and it fell over and leaked, And yes, I'm certain I did the top up as tightly as possible.

Firenze is a pain to match. It appears darker from the touch up pen in different lights, in some places it's almost invisible in others it stands out like a sore thumb.

If it's a big blister it will be going to LR for a warranties repair under their corrosion warranty. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That area is prone to stone chipping, I've had a chip area there repainted though the paint had not yet blistered around it. Good luck with a claim on the paintwork warranty, mine have been rejected... Only Range Rovers since 1988

On the subject of finding new spots, i've noticed the smallest of rust bubbles appearing on the rear trailing edge of the bonnet in the NS corner above the air vents.

Each time I wash the car then lift the bonnet I'm amazed how much residual water runs down the wings!. It must just lye there waiting to rot the bonnet whilst laughing at me. Big Cry

PS does anyone else have the wing mirrors constantly dribble down the door whilst you are trying to dry the car? Really annoying!!! Evil or Very Mad 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus
