L405 service history

I understand that service histories are kept online (I'm looking for a L405 2013 or 2014 model). Is it possible for a prospective purchaser like myself to access the service record at an approved dealership? Or is that something only an existing owner can do?
Thanks, Mike.

Yes.

The selling main dealer should be able to access it for s protective purchaser. Other dealers are often helpful too.

A quick way seems to be to ring their parts department, a method Ive resorted to because a lot of dealers use call centres that are often worse than useless, don't have relevant details at hand and either don't pass on messages or don't get back to you or fail to transfer you to the actual service department.

If a car has been serviced within the main dealer network, that history should be accessible via any franchised main dealer.

Slightly off topic, but last month my MD didn't want to enter the service detail in the book of my L322, saying all service records are now kept online. It was only when I insisted, Visa card in my hand, I am not paying until you enter details in my book, that they reluctantly agreed. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Our L405 doesn't even have a service booklet with stamps in it... "We don't use them anymore Sir, everything is logged on computer with these cars... "

Oh good!

Yes, I agree it's a trend that I dislike. I know you should always check invoices etc., and that service book stamps can easily be forged, and perhaps I'm old fashioned. But sometimes simpler is better.
Mike.

I thought they were kidding me on because they'd lost the book or something Laughing

To be fair, they show you all of the invoices etc upon request and tbh, it would be my preference to see invoices rather than just a stamp in a book because anyone can stamp a book Thumbs Up
