Buy and hybrid Analog/Digital TV unit and simply swap over - plug and play.

This is the easiest way - there are others.... .

Land Rover L322 DVB-T Digital Freeview TV Upgrade

info from their site

This is for upgrading your original analogue tuner to digital TV and DAB Radio, as well as Multimedia USB connection. Your analogue TV Tuner will have to be sent to for the upgrade, or alternatively, buy a ready made unit from and receive a partial refund for the difference.

Are there any companies do this for the touch screen variant? I got excited when I read this for a moment, clicked the link and ..... Not for touch screen models!

This is a very easy one to fix.

Have a look at http://PiBus.info/tv

I did this mod two weeks ago. The hardest part is drilling two holes for the aerial connectors Ron B. VK2OTC

Perfect.. That doesn't seem to much of a job to do either. My next question is, how do I remove the head unit/touch screen? I'm new to the l322' and if I'm honest taking it apart does concern me a little as everything on them seems to be so expensive to repair/replace.

Hello Stan,

Apologies for digging out this old thread... Hopefully you can help : My 2006 Vogue had the analogue tuner so that I lost all channels when France switched over to digital TV a few years ago.

I bought a used L322 HYBRID TV module (P/N : UH42-19C063-BC) which I just swapped with the original module, as recommended here and there, presumably it should be a "plug & play" operation...

Sad Bummer, still cannot receive any program... When I select "Auto" tuning, nothing happens. In "Manual" mode the system just jumps channels 1, 2, ... 69 with no more than buzzing sounds and "snow" on the screen.

It seems the tuner seeks only for analogue signals : indeed when going to TV / Settings / System, the drop list only offers the old analogue decoders (PAL, SECAM, NTSC), no choice for DVB, MPEG or the like... Hence my question : is it necessary to "tell" the head unit that a different TV tuner is installed ?

I have accessed the "hidden" MOST diagnostic mode and in the car configuration screen, I can see one line : "TVVariant" with parameter "TV 1 fitted". Is this related to the tuner type ? If yes, how to update it to "TV 2" or so ?

Another guess (less probable IMO but never knows...) : could it be that the Hybrid tuner I purchased is not compatible ? I should have mentionned that despite the tuner bears "L322 HYBRID" its donor car was a 2009 Discovery 3...

Any comment welcome !
Cheers,
Marc

You won't get TV in France with any of the LR tuners. France switched to MPEG4 for terrestrial TV and the LR tuners are MPEG2.

I have tried. Sad John

That's France for you.

Reminds me of the analogue TV days when some parts of the world, e.g., USA, Japan, etc., were NTSC - Never Twice the Same Colour

The enlightened world went PAL - Perfect At Last (or Peace at Last)

and France went SECAM - Something Essentially Contrary to the American Method Ron B. VK2OTC

Very interesting ! This makes sense. Thanks John !
Are you saying that the TV on subsequent YM cars (2007 onwards...) factory fitted with LR hybrid TV tuner doesn't operate in France ?

If the case, I guess the MPEG4 compatibility should have been introduced by LR at some point... Hopefully in the latest L322s YM (2012 ?) so that a swap with the correct tuner may be possible. Any idea ?
