Removal of window glue residue

As I don't have ugly children, I don't want privacy glass in any windows. So I was delighted when the L322 was advertised near me with one of the listed faults being the film glue residue needing removal from the rear windows.

The rear view through he mirror has a bit of a psychedelia feel, so the time has come to have a go at removing it. I'm OK with scraping the side windows, but has anyone any suggestions for solvents or techniques for the rear window with its heating elements? Old 110 2.3 Petrol ???? - ????

On a previous car I removed the tint film and then the glue residue using hot water and washing up liquid. I understand most of the glues are water based, mine was, yours might hopefully be. Thumbs Up

WD40 is very effective at removing stuck on labels which defy any other method. Worth trying on the glue. John
