England 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Think you're right Stan; I've seen several "runout" L322's up for £25k to £30k. I know that is before haggling.
Best thing is to get a really well cared for L322 in a private sale.......... Whistle

Mike.

Private sales are final vs. dealers who are bound by consumer act. You'll have six months fault cover essentially via a dealer.

Fair enough, but you'll pay less for a private purchase in the first place. Also, the car in private sale might still have a LR extended warranty. Finally, my experience of dealer warranties is that they're not worth the paper they're printed on (excluding a proper LR warranty). Some dealers, like Gary Elliot on here, are reputable - but, there's a lot of sharks out there who'll in practice give you no more protection that a private seller would. You can quote the CRA all you like but the dealer can shrug his shoulders and you're left unprotected. Just my opinion - but I would go for a trusted private seller or a LR main dealer with an approved LR warrranty.

that's not correct at all pal , no dealer of any size can get away with not abiding by the consumers act of 2015 , if they shrug /refuse to help and you take them to court they will lose , end of !

Yes Bembo you're right in theory. But in practice it's different - the dealer might argue that your claim is unrealistic; the CRA isn't as clear as people think. The judge (in a small claims court) might make an odd decision in the dealer's favour. You might, if you hire a lawyer, face legal bills. The dealership might have ceased trading. You inevitably have lots of stress while it all happens.

Even if you win, unscrupulous dealers - especially the "driveway traders" that operate from home - may not pay up. Or you get awarded £20 a month or something. Or they liquidate the business.

Do an internet search - you'll discover that justice isn't as easy as some folk believe.

Wow! Low mileage or not I wouldn't pay that for a 14 year old car! Apologies if this is anyone's on here but I bet book value on that is half what they are asking.
