South Africa 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver
your thoughts

I am considering a 2013 Range Rover 5.0SC Autobiography with 127000kms (79375 miles) which is advertised for R849 000 which is EURO55042.

It has full service history with LR dealers, Luxor exterior and black interior with features such as Executive (individual) seating with massage, heated and cooled seats all round, RSE, electric towbar, soft closing doors, etc.

Without knowing the list price it's difficult to ascertain if 55k Euros is a lot in your country.
A 2014 similar car in the UK with 50k miles is around 60k Euros so unless you pay a higher list price cars than in the UK I'd say that car is overpriced at that mileage.
But I suppose you may have a lot less cars to choose from although there are hardly any S/C cars on the market in the UK of that age.

Prices versus value depends on market conditions like choice, appetite for high fuel costs, cost of money etc etc.

Well, the exec seats plus the 5.0superchrged engine is for me the perfect combination, make sure it has the Signature Meridian Sound System as that just completes package

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Unfortunately did not get a chance to listen to the sound - but am also hoping it has.

Post was to get advice whether:

- the price was reasonable
- mileage are okay or rather wait on one with lower mileage.

I must add that Autobiography vehicles in South Africa are a rare breed and that the next one on sale is at R1.1m (GBP65 500) - this is also a 2013 model albeit with lower mileage (54680 miles)

There's not many on here qualified to comment on value at South African prices........

The difference between the 2 prices doesn't seem to reflect the mileage - so I'd say your first car seems better, unless you are expecting to put above average miles onto it ?

The rear exec seating seems to divide the pack - if you like it, then go for it, but it is limiting - you can't carry that 5th person at a push - and you can't fold the seats to get that large load in - but if you never do either of those, then its a nice feature to have IMHO Thumbs Up

the price is difficult for us in the UK to judge..i would compare the price to your local sales..

in the UK the average mileage is around 10-12k per year.. ... - .- -.

Actually forgot to say that the Exec seating is one of those features thats very high up my list - don't intend carrying more than 4 people at a time.

This is the 2nd lowest price L405 currently in the market - the lowest being a standard 3.0tdV6. As said, the next Autobiography is about GBP10000 more expensive.

@Alistair, yes I do quite a bit of mileage - about 25000 miles per annum, most of which is highway.
