No more Fattie

A day of mixed emotions. Swapped the FFRR for a new F Pace and sorry to see it go; it has been by some distance the best car I've ever had to date. But it was time to move it on as its 7 years old and so likely to start playing up. If I was handy with spanners and had the time, I would have kept it, but I'm not, so on to something new.

I'll miss the car for sure, the effortless luxury and comfort, but I won't miss that dread of the bong or it not starting. Pics below of the old and the new. I know you'll all think I'm a traitor/mad/both, but its basically a Velar! Mrs S reckons I'll be back to a Rangie before long too....

I'll keep my eye on this forum, cos truth to tell the F Pace on isn't as entertaining!

Andy

The red thing was a cover over the car, which i was invited to remove as part of the handover. They also give you the keys in a presentation box, flowers for Mrs S and a bottle of fizz.

Reasons I didn't go for the Velar:

1. The LR salesman at the dealer I had used for years didn't take much interest when i enquired about a new car earlier this year, but the Jag man did, and kept me up to date on offers over the year before converting enquiry to sale. Thats a lesson to the LR salesman in taking a customer for granted!
2. For broadly the same spec, on what underneath is the same car, the Velar was £10k more. That puts it over £70k, which is way too much for what it is.

Its a different kind of drive and I'm looking forward to getting used to it, but deep down I know I'll be back in a FFRR in the future......but not in the next month or so!

LR are currently riding the wave.
They should be careful their fall from grace is not even faster than their rise.

I’ll be quite interested to hear how you like the new Jag. It’s a little bit down the automotive food chain, but a LOT newer. I’m interested to see which is nicer as an every day driver. Enjoy.

PS Proper Jag colour, too. Thumbs Up
