I have had an issue with the automatic closing of the rear tailgate for a long time. The opening works fine, but usually when I touch the button for closing, either the button on the car or on the remote control, I hear three beeps, and nothing happens. This happens more often than not.

The car has been in the workshop several times with the issue. The first time they changed an actuator. The other times they have done a reset. When I get the car back it works fine for a few times, but soon it's back to on and off working.

Have any other had this issue? To me it sounds like a sensor fault that somehow suspect an obstruction and beeps to signal that it will not close. ----------

A mate had this on a very early car. They sent someone from the factory in the end. I think that sorted it but I don’t know what they did.

He ended up rejecting the car (it also dumped him a couple of times too).
