Water in fuel warning

Water in Fuel message cropped up yesterday so replaced filter this morning. Filter looked as if it had been on a while. Took the whole set up of of the vehicle to make sure we didn't mess up the big plastic locking ring. All back together and after a few miles driving around.....back comes the message.
Last filled up a couple of weeks ago and its been running ok. Was on the last quarter of the tank. What now ? Change the electronic sensor I suppose . I hate it when you cant go straight to a fault but instead have to replace one part after another.

Just cleared the code, added some worth fuel dry to a full tank of shell. Off to London and back sat so could be interesting.
