Replaced the main power lead from battery

I replaced the main lead from the battery - not the easiest job in the world but did it as it was 10 yrs old and they do corrode.
It wasn't in too bad condition but all the terminals were in a sad way.
Its just another bit of preventative maintenance

Thanks Sandy,
I forgot about the cartridge being part of it.
When the AA man changed my battery, I pointed out the explosive cartridge to him and said be careful,
his expression was a mixture of disbelief and fear, im sure he thought i was joking.

Its connected to the SRS airbag system so that if you have a high impact it blows the positive terminal off the battery so stopping sparks

It's not as exciting as it sounds, it is just a plunger that is triggered by a small charge that pops the plunger away from the socket it sits in disconnecting the main power supply but leaving the internal power connected so you can operate windows and central locking. I would imagine it is more of a click than an explosion but I still wouldn't test one if it was in my trouser pocket Wink
