Is it possible to enable and use TC without fitting the FBH? I only intend to use it for pre-ventillation.
I'm considering taking my fatty to the Caribbean, so never cold but always hot! One of my reservations about taking it is how slow to cool the aircon is from first start.

Mine is petrol, so no FBH as standard. I have IIDTool, so can theoretically enable it, but will it simply fault when it fails to detect the FBH?

the timed climate is linked to the fbi so i would say no..

you can globally open the windows with the remote though... ... - .- -.

Is it a massive job to retrofit (if I can find a petrol one)?

Does the TC turn on the full climate control system, or just switch on the fans?

I currently am having a slightly unstable train of thought involving a second battery, Timed Climate with remote, and an electric air con compressor from Nissan Leaf or similar in parallel with the standard crank driven pump...

Sure my 1988 735i had timed vent, and that had no FBH.....
