Bluetooth music on 17 MY

Hi
Have taken delivery of the new car, but seem to be having problems playing the music from the phone.
If I connect with Bluetooth, it seems to play OK, but there is no control of the music from the car. So for example if I want to play a different track or album I can only do this by manually choosing the track or album from the phone. There is no way of navigation from the car. is this correct?
Also if I plug in the iPhone with the iPhone cable, I still can't get any response from the screen. It will play the music, but there is no info on the screen etc..
Am I doing something wrong? 2017 Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE

Same thing happens on my MY17 Rangie. I think its a phone software issue. Another way is to play the phone music via the incontrol apps page...when they work!

Anybody know when the Bluetooth disconnecting software fix will come out from LR? My iPhone 6s keeps disconnecting from my MY17 car Bluetooth mid calls and its driving me nuts! I was told that a fix came out but had a glitch with rear seat entertainment so they were re-writing.

I can’t believe a car of this caliber can have a Bluetooth system that cannot support a basic iPhone.

I love the rest of the car but the phone disconnecting on work calls is a nightmare...

Sorry for the rant! I just can’t get an answer from my local garage.
