Tailgate damping kit installation

Before I start drilling holes I'll swiftly regret - could someone quickly confirm this is where the lower strut mount bracket should be positioned?

Many thanks!

Must get one of those!

I take it's to stop the tailgate dropping so urgently?

Let us know whether you think it’s a worthwhile mod please.

I think a very worthwhile mod and it does look like you have the bracket in the right place Thumbs Up Geoff

It also probably gives it a bit more strength when you stand on it. Eh Stan?! 2006 4.2 SC

Yep is good, very subtle. The difference lifting the tailgate is hardly noticeable, but it allows you to just press the button and let it drop unsupported with out it landing with a bang, just a slight bounce.

Installation pretty straight forward, the upper tailgate support bracket on the right gains a knuckle to fit the top of the strut to, the bottom strut bracket means drilling two holes.
