Does make you wonder who decides on all these changes and, assuming they do use focus groups or something similar, who the Censored are they talking to, cos it ain't you guys who actually buy the new models...... Shocked 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I think you've got it there - it only comes with the additional "hang off the back of the seat" screens, which seems perverse. Hardly anyone bought those last time and I chose the more discreet RSE option.

Seems to me (after looking in the info section of the configurator) that the winged headrests are standard on the 22-way and 24-way seats, regardless of an RSE option is selected or not. That's a relief Thumbs Up

Erik,
I read it 4 positional head rest and manual wings on standard but only 2 position and manual wings on RSE
I will find out in January hopefully

LR removed the sunglasses holder above the rear view mirror in the L322, and I find the armrest storage ideal for sunglasses/reading glasses in the 405. Where do they go now in the MY18? Do I have to reach in to the glove box each time? Perhaps use some tape to strap them to the A pillar perhaps? Ideas in an envelope to LR. MY23 D350 HSE

What is really beginning to impress me, even after only 2 months and 5,000 miles, is the high quality of the leather and how easy it looks like it’s going to be to look after.

Used the digital TV in the L405 for the first time the other day. Very impressed. Great quality images and sound. Thumbs Up

I only picked up my 2015 autobiography last week and drove it straight to France for Christmas, what really impressed me after my disco 4 is the smoothness - and I loved the adaptive cruise control, its perfect on the french motorways where every now and then someone wanders out into the fast lane at 5omph to overtake a lorry. The massage seats are also pretty good and the winged headrests. I did get off to a bad start though when I realised the boot would only hold about half what we normally take with us! I also need to sort something out for snowboarding in February as I suspect I wont be throwing them in the boot like on the disco. All in all I love the car. If anyone has a suggestion for a good snowboard rack for the towbar please let me know, Id rather not fit roof rails as I think it would spoil the lines.

Unless you have permanent rails fitted, there’s no roof option.

I decided to put the skis and boards through the middle of the car as the centre rear seat folds - so we could still take 4 - then I put the rest of the bags onto a Thule Easybase which worked very well indeed.

I’ve now done the sensible thing and bought a place in the mountains, so everything stays there Cool

Hi, unfortunately there are 5 of us so we can’t load through the centre, I’ll have a look at the easybase though, we can always take the disco sport but it’s nowhere near as nice!, buying a place sounds like the ideal solution but probably a bit extravagant for the one week a year!
Thanks for the advice

Having moved from 2 x D4's myself, the space can be an issue!

I had the rails fitted to mine and they look absolutely fine but, once they are fitted, the cross bars are no where near as well designed as those for the D4 and the whole bill comes to nearly £1,300.00 Shocked

Rails mean you can’t squeeze into regular height on the tunnel Surprised

Whilst overheight is the same price, there’s less availability, so a greater impact if there are delays.

Thanks, that was one of things I looked at before buying it, I travel through the tunnel every couple of weeks and quite often I can’t get overheight availability on my frequent traveller account if I leave it too late or I’m travelling on a peak day.

Space was definitely an issue this Christmas, dog - hamster with cage, family, laptops, presents etc. Range Rover

I did suggest this! I’m going to buy a cage to keep in France and get something much smaller for the trips down. I think they live a couple of years but unfortunately we are only about 4 months in! Range Rover

We used to take our hamster on holidays with us..............had some interesting conversations with hotel staff!!

Had to smuggle him in at one place (staff were a bit sniffy!) and hid him in the wardrobe Laughing 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography
