egr fault codes

The amber check engine light has popped up on my dash and I have the following codes. I take it I have a sticky egr valve?.
I remove the codes with my iid tool and they will stay away for a day or two then come back, I have no running issues just the codes any advice etc. before I take it in to be sorted out?
P0405-21(2E) exhaust gas recirculation sensor A-circuit low-general sgnal failure-signal ampiltude<minimum.
P1335-21(2C) exhaust gas recirculation position sensor minimum stop performance-General signal failure -signal amplitude<minimum.

thanks in advance. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver

A cheap alternative 1st option could be induction cleaner. It might clear the problem. Or it might be a waste of money. ______________________________

The next alternative to replacement is removing and blanking the EGRs and fitting emulators.

I’ve had the EGRs unplugged for 18 mths with emulators. All ok so far. ______________________________

Not sure about emulators but it's now going into landranger services to have both egr valves replaced so fingers crossed all will be well, it will be interesting to see if my car drives any differently when it's done. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver

Just connected my iid tool and the egr 1 position is 7% and egr 2 position is 5%. And these figures don't move either up or down so unless I'm reading the figures wrong is looks like they may be both stuck. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver

A remap and blanking plates is another good alternative to replacing EGRs. ______________________________

Thanks rar110.I have seen that post but as mine aren't working properly they will have to be removed so may as well put new ones in. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver

I could be wrong but the egr valves need to be closed as they can break up and "lunch" the engine.
If it was mine I'd remove them, clean them and seal them closed. Re - fit them and then map them out with a re-map.
It would still be cheaper than 2 new egr valves as they are around £250 each.
Just my 2 penneth. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Well both egrs have been replaced cost £675 fitted Inc vat labour etc.i think that is a good price. All seems well now,all fault codes have gone and egrs are moving up and down in sequence with each other according to my iid tool.I think my engine may be slightly quieter now and the squeak squeak noise that I used to have for a few seconds after switching off has gone too,(I was under the impression that was the egr valves cleaning themselves ).so all is well fingers crossed. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver
