0x41A Lambda control adaption exceeds lower limit bank 1

Anyone know what this means? I now know its not O2 sensor because that just came up on bank 2. Thanks. Can't find it anywhere but in reference to LPG conversion on a land rover.

OK so an update on this code. So basically lambda adaption is anything to do with fuel/air mixture. Most often it is caused by aging O2 sensor but MAF, vacuum leak, bad fuel, injectors, spark plugs, catalytic converter can do it. Mine is probably O2 sensor but since it only pops up once a month or less I need to further sort it out. Iidtool live values look within normal range at this time so we just wait until it happens again and see if I can see something more definitive.

OK so some update on this. A while back I replaced the 2 downstream O2 sensors with no change on the Lambda codes being thrown now and then. I have read that any air getting into the system that bypasses the MAF can trigger this. I noticed my snorkel to intake wasn't that tight. I could wiggle it off so I tightened it so it has no wiggle. Haven't seen the code in a few hundred miles now but still early. Anyone have this cause the fault code?

i had this code for both banks, Fuel pump failing and when on load the pump was not giving the engine the fuel it needed.

i did fuel pressure test to work this out to be sure. replaced fuel pump with boosh unit for bmw x5 alot cheaper !!

i also had the car die at the lights and took ages to restart, and then would take few seconds to start.. if i put my foot down alot i would get engine light saying Lambda control adaption exceeds lower limit bank 1 and 2.

But there mainly causes for this code, its normally not the o2 sensors.

Although most of the time I was.getting bank 1 lambda followed by both banks less frequently I had the bank 1 downstream O2 fault come up about 4 times so figured to go from there.

So much for that theory. Fault tripped again. This time with bank 2 downstream O2. It is new. Maybe not seated deep enough. Will pull it and clean all the threads to depth.

Not yet. But I haven't forgotten your suggestion. I don't have any fuel delivery symptoms yet. No start issues or power issues. Oh but wait. I have a fuel level sensor fault this time. Hmmm... Ruling out the stuff that directly, normally, affects the lambda values first. IIdtool folks said to watch live values. Unfortunately I'm not up to speed what they should be. I don't fully understand how to set triggers on the values either.

Just to update. It hasn't been confirmed the pump was causing the lambda fault but I'm betting it was.

Return of the lambda fault code so not the fuel pump.

Update: So now that cold weather has returned, 24 degrees F, the fault code frequency has been a couple of times a day with bank 2 joining bank 1 some of those times. Anyone know what in the Lambda loop gets stressed with colder weather?

Update: just finished a fuel injector replacement. During the process I found 2 places where air or vacuum may be an issue. The blue stripped hose from the SAI was deteriorated at valve end. The rubber gasket on the throttle body that the air intake hose clams around had stretched out of shape on the bottom and came out of the retaining grove . We will see if these fixes stop the fault code.

400 miles and no service engine light. It almost seems wrong.
