I'm having a similar problem! Have you tried erasing faults from the steering angle sensor and abs modules then doing the steering wheel full lock left to right?

I guess not by his no reply .

I thought I would pick up this thread by the fact I have a similar fault yesterday with HDC INACTIVE , Air susp. inactive with can bus error 50. I t also coincided with ABS ESP ETC. This had an error with no plausible signal at the time from rear right sensor .
I was on the middle of a long run of 300 mls with no faults whatsoever . Very strange , I stopped in a layby and switched off and started the car again and was back to normal, well only for 30 miles , so after a another 30mls to home I stopped and reset and again everything ok , except that both rear brakes were hot !
The codes that I mentioned were cleared but not been anywhere since . Alot of confusion I guess in the can bus.
What I can do is try the steering turn to turn , .....I will let you know , haha.
Incidentally before the run I changed the inner tie rod , perhaps that is to blame , but I had covered 300 mls after that ? Confused

Much help appreciated.
Cheers Pat

Hi sorry moved to another thread as it looks like the steering angle sensor is the culprit - will be changing this weekend hopefully Current stable:

Bumping this old tread instead of opening a new one.

I bought a 2002 L322 4.4i a few weeks ago knowing it had an air suspension issue.
The car hadn't been driving for a while and the car laid on its belly.
I presumed it was a compressor or strut problem.

Once I got it home I hooked it up to my diagnosis tool and after clearing all faults the car raised and only gave a fault on the left front height sensor. Turned out they had just completely removed the sensor and cut the wires going to the sensor Shocked .

Ordered a new sensor + fixed the cabling and hooked it up to my diagnosis tool again.

On the dash it says 'air suspension inactive' and ABS, yellow ! and ESP ligths are on.

The car fails to calibrate the steering wheel sensor when I turn the steering wheel from full lock to full lock.
Therefore it could be the steering wheel sensor being faulty,

but...

my (and my friend's) diagnosis tool fail to go in the ABS ECU, when we try to read it out it gets a time out and on the air suspension I get the Canbus error code 50.

What do you guys think? ABS electronics? Will try to read the data from the steering wheel angle sensor later to see if the sensor works... '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)

Tough one I can’t remember if I couldn’t read the abs or not but the SAS fault is more and more common i on so probably 5 people in the last year or so who’ve had it where as I didn’t know anyone before I think their age is showing... Current stable:

Found water in the plug of the ABS pump under the bonnet. The plug has already taken one pin of the ABS unit so I'm looking at a new (used) ABS pump and a new plug.

Found this tread regarding plug + wiring: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/200...v2.223588/

Will buy a used ABS pump but apparently these need coding? Who's familiar with coding a used ABS pump to the car? '17 Range Rover 5.0 Supercharged AB (Sold)
