Cracked windscreen

Hi all.
Woke up this morning to a very frosty windscreen. As it thawed out I noticed a crack from the passenger side where it meets the bulkhead. It runs up and over to the middle of the screen. About half way is a chip so I’m guessing this is where it started
Ideally I’d like a Land Rover branded screen. Will the insurance pay for one or do I have to have aftermarket?
Also- what’s involved. I’ve heard they remove the outer black trim and sometimes they break. Do they also remove the inner trim to access the heated windscreen terminals?

Cheers

This might assist with some of your queries Andy.

There wasn't that much difference in price between a Pilkington and an LR branded screen IIRC.

Have a search.

The good fitters will allow you to specify a screen, don’t accept a crap one. They will also come equipped with a new set of clips for the trims.

Have had a couple changed on the FF and D4 with no bother. Autoglass if you can and your insurance doesn’t have a “preferred” company and check they are sending a 2 man team. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
