It’s part of a grand plan. My last set of metal caps corroded on after a winter in Syracuse and all of the salt. $800 odd dollars later ( had to replace the tire pressure sending units as well. ) Down side of depending on the TPMS system and not taking the caps off regularly to check tire pressures.

Had mine in November just after ordering a MY18 (my second 405). Not worth much, but a nice touch.
