Can I leave fuse 49 out?

About a week ago I started to get a ‘thump’ through the speakers when switching the ignition either on or off. Then last night it got worse and there was a constant ‘chirp tick chirp tick’ coming through the speakers when ignition off and key out. It was a constant even tempo akin to a ticking clock. It stopped once ignition on. The only way to stop it when key out was to remove fuse 49 (was afraid it would drain battery overnight). Putting it back in 24 hours later there was a spark and immediately the noise returned.

Can I leave it out permanently until I find what’s wrong?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks. Current: 2004 Vogue 4.4 V8 - 2004 Discovery 2

I have the same problem I have removed fuse 49 and removed the Lear amp and bm54 unit as both need repairs, so sending it off to a bloke called graham who did a repair on my Lcm, mine was also causing a serious battery drain when they were plugged in
