Windscreen replacd today - possible problem.

Autoglass came out to fit my new screen today. Took longer than anticipated as the scuttle plate had previously been bonded onto the original windscreen and they had to cheesewire it off. Not sure if it was done at the factory or not. The scuttle plate now has to be replaced thanks to whoever bonded it on.

Anyway- new screen looks great but I’ve noticed I can get my fingers up over the roof lining now where it meets the screen. I never tried to do this before so I don’t know if it’s always been like this but nothing seems to be holding the roof lining in place.

Can someone check theirs to see if they can do the same?

TIA

there is a gap, i hide my dashcam cable up there but you'd have to pull it down a tad to get fingers up there... ... - .- -.

I can grab the rooflining with the tips of my fingers and pull it down. Nothing seems to be holding it in place. Seems like it needs press clips or something

That’s sounds normal. As Stans says, it’s designed to hide dash cam cables. Laughing

Funny you should say that- When I looked at it with the screen out, I was tempted to shove my dashcam cable inside the void between the lining and the shell before the screen went back in.

The piece of plastic below the screen is indeed sealed into position - the fitters didn't re-seal it when I had my screen replaced a couple of years back, and it vibrated something awful!! Got them back out and they glued it down properly - no problems since. Regards,
Mick

The rain sensor and headlight sensor stopped working on mine when my windscreen was replaced a few years ago.

The fitters fitted a replacement and then a new sensor but still nothing.

The ONLY thing that cured it was an OE Pilkington windscreen. It's been documented on here any times. Si. <This is my name.
